Worship at Still & Moving
Meditation as a form of worship
We hold worship to be an inward posture of the heart. It’s acknowledging the majesty of what we hold most dear. Our worship is ultimately a response of awe.
At Still & Moving, we create sacred space for meditation - whether in stillness or while moving. Meditation is our primary form of worship.
In meditation we learn to quiet our mind, observe our thoughts, feelings and actions without attachment. We develop clarity, patience and perspective.
Our meditation can take us to a place of Deep Presence, of Self awareness, of Universal Joy, of Infinite Compassion.
Those who experience this state have used some of these terms to describe it:
• Melting into Unity
• Radiant Joy
• Boundless selflessness
• Love for everyone
• Perception as the Self
Mindful Movement allows us to achieve Moving Meditation. We design all of the mindful movement practices offered at Still & Moving Community Center to prepare the instructors and students for Moving Meditation.
How does Mindful Movement lead to Moving Meditation?
The Mindful Movement forms that we offer at Still & Moving Community Center engender the movers’:
• Continuity of Consciousness
• Awareness of Body Sensation
• Joy
• NonViolence
• Self Awareness.
